Been a resident here since April, great place for early recovery. Very open and welcoming group of guys you wouldn’t even think it’s a halfway unless they told you!

New Friendships was one of the - and I use this word loosely - “better” halfway houses I lived in. Thank god I don’t have to live in any other halfway house again. So here we go: You have to share so much space and time with others. I hated having to share one bathroom between a total of four roommates. Side note: I seriously LOVED one of the counselors/owners. That person was always so sweet and helpful toward my recovery. Very positive person and genuinely cared for our well being. Okay anyway, Another thing you should know is they were/are cheap on upgrading beds and anything really. For the amount I paid in rent monthly, there should have been better quality furniture, WiFi, and hmm maybe hire an actual contractor to FIX the damaged issues on the building - to name a few. I know it’s “sober living” and all, but come on! There was an incident between my therapist at that time and it was highly inappropriate. The owners did completely have my back and made sure that person was never to come back and was reported. But still, that could have been prevented. I know in the beginning of this review I focus a lot on the material things. It shouldn’t matter, BUT having somewhere nice to live with the amount rent was/is, makes a lot of difference. the problems could’ve been fixed instead of one of the owners always going on trips...using money to his benefit. I don’t know why I’m judging so much, but I want to tell the truth. If you want to be clean and work on your recovery you should go here, but if you can afford an even better halfway house then I’d advise it. At least this place was legit though and actually kept me accountable with drug tests, unlike other halfway houses where people are getting high all the time. Anyway, I’m over this review. Choose this place or don’t. It only works if you want to stay clean and work your program, blah blah blah...you know the language of recovery.
